Andy Morgan, Salix fund manager for Kent County Council, managed to increase the number of completed and committed projects by 41% in only six months. He attributed his success to three critical factors, "We consolidated responsibility of the fund to one person – ensuring that dedicated resources and support were devoted to the Salix scheme; next we took a more pro-active approach in terms of marketing the loan fund to large sites with big saving opportunities – not only did this deliver the reductions in terms of cost and emissions but it also reduced management time.  Finally, we worked more closely with our contractors to help us identify and immediately implement worthwhile projects."
