1. When is the deadline for applying for funding?
Please refer to the relevant section on this website, applicable to your sector, for the most up to date information on current funding rounds and deadlines.

2. Why does this technology have such a low persistence value?
There are a number of factors that go into calculating persistence factors including reliability, expected life time of technology and potential for human and mechanical failure. Thus, there is a range of persistence factors and even though a technology may have a short financial payback period it may not have a high enough persistence factor to allow it to qualify as a Salix project.

3. Can we change the persistence factor value to fit the scheme criteria?
Persistence factors are derived from a tool provided by the Carbon Trust and therefore cannot be altered.

4. Which types of project fit the scheme compliance criteria?
All technologies outlined in the Salix Scheme Project Compliance Checking Tool are potential Salix projects. What determines whether they are Project Compliant will be dependent on factors such as runtime, hours of occupancy, load size, controls etc. As a guide, partners should look at building fabric and other insulation opportunities as priority and then work down the Table of Technologies and Persistence Factors.

5. Does Salix have a reporting system?
The Salix Energy Reporting System (SERS) is the software support tool for managing projects and accounts. This is available to all Salix clients after the initial Funding Claim has been received. Full training is provided at this stage.

6. What happens once the two year programme ends?
Once the two year programme is over, the client must still commit 60% of the cash available, at the start of each financial year, to projects that are Scheme Compliant or pay back the Salix part of the fund.

7. What if we want to apply for further funding?
If you hit all targets for claiming successive Salix funding then as long as the energy spend is large enough (to ensure sustainable investment opportunities for energy efficiency), Salix will consider additional support subject to fund availability.

8. What if we run out of projects?
If you are not able to identify any further suitable projects and wish to use your part of the match fund component for other purposes, then Salix would recover its part of the fund.
