All new applications in England will come within the remit of the HEFCE/Salix Revolving Green Fund if this is launched as planned following on from the consultation.

Programme Update
Salix is now working with 11 English and 8 Scottish Universities.

Revolving Green Fund
HEFCE are currently consulting on a proposal that Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in England will benefit from a new source of funding via a Revolving Green Fund.

The consultation is now underway with a closing date of the 21st of April.  If the proposal is accepted both parties will commit significant funds to this new programme. There are two parts to the fund – An institutional small projects fund and a transformational fund. For the institutional small projects fund HEFCE will provide the match to the Salix fund. The university will be required to provide 25% of the total funding for non-compliant recycling projects. It is expected that this will lead to a steep increase in the number of HEIs applying for a Salix fund.

It is intended that Salix will work with HEFCE and manage both parts of the fund with recommendations for acceptance being submitted to an assessment panel for final approval.

HE Case Studies
Finally Salix would like to thank the three Pilot Universities who have assisted with case studies, namely: Cambridge, Kings College London & St Andrews.
