Budget 2009 announced additional financial assistance for the public sector to invest in energy saving projects. Salix is pleased to have been chosen to manage this programme in England.
The loans scheme has now had 3 calls for applications which have all been highly successful with in excess of 950 projects being accepted for funding.
We have more money available for the Salix Loans Scheme which will mean that we will have further calls after 31 December 2009 call closes.
The next call will be open until 5 February 2010. We are expecting that the funding will be allocated by this time. Any decision concerning whether a further call is necessary will not be taken until this call is completed.
A reminder that as soon as you get in your application and agreed compliance tool it will be processed – you do not have to wait until the round closes to hear of the success of your application.
Feedback from the first 2 calls for applications:- “We wanted to start our projects next summer when the students are off campus - we spoke to Salix and they agreed the delay and so we made an application based on this factor and now know we have the loan confirmed for the work.” – University
“We put in for several projects and are claiming the funding as each one is completed.”
– Local Authority
“There was a concern about cash flow and so we asked for interim payments and this was agreed at the outset.” – NHS Trust
“The process for completing the forms is very straightforward and made the application quite easy.” –FE College
“We had ready to go projects and were pleased to get a quick approval.” –FE College
“There was an opportunity for schools to be involved where they have small projects and cannot apply direct by handling applications through ourselves.” – Local Authority
