Salix Featured in the February edition of Energy in Buildings and Industry Magazine
Salix are delighted to have been featured in the February edition of Energy in Buildings and Industry magazine. The article, which can be found on page 29 of the magazine titled ‘Releasing the Pressure’, showcases how Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust utilised several Salix loans to implement a number of carbon reduction measures across three of the five sites.
Since 2009, £7.3 million has been invested by the Trust into numerous energy efficiency projects funded by Salix, which is expected to save around £26.7 million over the lifetime of the projects. Approximately £2.9 million has been invested in upgrading the BEMS (building energy management system) which will allow for greater control in achieving optimum heating conditions to improve the working environment as well as reducing the Trust’s energy consumption. The upgrades to the BEMS system will save the Trust approximately £832,000 a year, with further savings resulting from a reduce need for maintenance.
The Trust has also implemented heating and hot water system investments and conducted an extensive review of its existing lighting.
