Salix CEO presenting at The Trust Network: National Estates Conference

Annie Shepperd will be presenting at The Trust Network on 12th April at Corby Business Academy. The presentation will focus on Energy efficiency and the estate, particularly around climate change.

The conference will be attended by around 200 delegates including representatives of Multi Academy Trusts (MAT’s), Academies, free schools and UTC’s. The Education Funding Agency (EFA), Department for Education (DfE) and other organisations will also be sharing best practice. 

Successful applications for the Heat Networks Investment Project announced

The successful applications for the pilot phase of the Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP), which was administered by Salix Finance, have been announced today. They are:

·         Sheffield District Energy Network development - Energy from waste plant

·         Somers Town (Phase 2), Camden - Gas Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant

·         Manchester Civic Quarter Heat Network - Gas Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant

·         Colchester Northern Gateway - Heat pump

Salix to attend and present at Traffex 2017

Salix will be attending and speaking at Traffex 2017 at the NEC in Birmingham on Thursday 6th April.

Hayley Condie, Programme Manager from Salix, will be speaking in the Traffex Theatre at 2:30pm.

The session will discuss how Salix Finance can work with local authorities to achieve financial savings and emissions reductions by providing interest-free finance for energy efficiency projects.

NHS Sustainability Day March 23rd

March 23rd will see the sixth annual NHS Sustainability Day take place across England. The national day of action will see NHS Trusts and Healthcare Organisations across England act to promote environmental awareness and how it can improve public health.

Over 80% of NHS Trusts across England will take part, with Clinical Commissioning Groups, Charities and the Private Sector also expected to participate.

Salix to Attend and Exhibit at the EAUC Annual Conference 2017

The 21st EAUC Annual Conference is being held at Lancaster University on 29th and 30th March 2017.

The conference will bring together over 370 attendees from the further and higher education sector. Delegates include those responsible for environmental management, estates and facilities, finance and procurement as well as students and curriculum leaders.

The University of Strathclyde saves 2,300 tonnes of carbon with a Salix Recycling Fund

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Salix Scotland Recycling Fund is available to all local authorities and universities in Scotland aiming for long-term investment in energy efficiency and the reduction of carbon emissions.  For more information or to make an application, please click here.

Salix Featured in the February edition of Energy in Buildings and Industry Magazine

Salix are delighted to have been featured in the February edition of Energy in Buildings and Industry magazine. The article, which can be found on page 29 of the magazine titled ‘Releasing the Pressure’, showcases how Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust utilised several Salix loans to implement a number of carbon reduction measures across three of the five sites.                       

Welsh Government invests over £12 million to help local authorities become energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions

The Welsh Government has approved over £12 million of investment funding as part of an initiative to help Local Authorities become more energy efficient, reduce carbon emissions and save money.

Flintshire Council will receive £3.13 million to upgrade 11,000 street lights to LED equivalents, saving the local authority approximately £391,305 and 1,387 tCO2e annually. This change will also improve lighting levels and reduce the number of faults occurring on the network each year, cutting down maintenance costs as a result.

Salix exhibiting at NHS Sustainability Roadshow – Leeds 2017

Salix are pleased to be exhibiting for the fourth year running at the latest NHS Sustainability Day Roadshow at the Horizon Conference Centre in Leeds on Thursday 2nd March 2017.

The day will consist of a number of presentations, concentrating on the different ways a sustainable NHS can be achieved.
