Wales Funding Programme Deadline – 30th September 2017

Following the success from previous rounds of funding throughout 2016/17, Salix announced further rounds for 2017/18 for the Wales Funding Programme earlier this year.  The funding programme combines both the Salix Energy Efficiency Loans Scheme (SEELS) and the Invest to Save - Green Growth Finance Schemes into one application process.

The closing date for applications is 30th September 2017 with further rounds to follow throughout the year as detailed below.

Salix Finance announces CHP Workshops to be held in November and December

Salix are pleased to announce that it will be running Combined Heat and Power (CHP) workshops throughout November & December 2017.

The CHP workshops are free to attend and are open to all public sector organisations. They are an opportunity to learn more about CHP, including best practise for their design and operation, and will provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to meet and share knowledge with peers. Salix will also discuss how its interest-free loans can be utilised to help with the upfront costs of installation.  

Deadline Approaching for Salix Funding Round for Higher and Further Education Institutions – 5 Weeks to Go

This is a reminder that applications for the 2017/18 funding round will close on 27th October 2017.

Salix Finance has interest free funding available for energy efficiency projects in Further and Higher Education Institutions. Salix funding is available for over 100 energy-efficiency technologies and Salix is able to support programs of work spanning multiple years.

Salix Exhibiting at Education Estates and Facilities Conference: Building a Better Future

The Education Estates and Facilities Conference: Building a better Future will be held on 27th September 2017 at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.

Winstanley Sixth Form College used Salix Interest-free funding to reduce their energy costs through energy efficiency improvements.

Winstanley College installed multiple energy efficiency measures using a Salix loan, with the aim of significantly reducing their carbon footprint.

The college has continued to upgrade and rebuild its estate over the last five years and the Salix loans have helped to ensure that while the college has grown in student numbers, the energy use and carbon footprint have fallen.

The AUE Annual Conference 2017 will be taking place on 6th – 8th September at Nottingham Trent University.

The Effectively Managing NHS Estates Conference will be taking place on Tuesday 26th September in central London.

Over £38 million of Salix funding used to install CHP across the UK public sector

Over £38 million of Salix interest-free loans have been used for the installation of combined heat and power (CHP) to provide high efficiency heat and power generation to UK public sector buildings, bringing estimated annual savings of over £10 million on energy bills. Last year saw a record number of these Salix funded CHP projects completing, with a total of £14 million of funding utilised throughout the public sector.

Salix Exhibiting at the Healthcare Estates Management Conference

The Healthcare Estates Management Conference: Building and Maintaining the Future of Our Health is taking place on 25th July at AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester.

The event is organised by the University of Salford Manchester and will explore alternative ways of funding the NHS estate as capital investment is diverted to cover running costs. At the conference, challenges to the health care system including an ageing population and a shift towards preventative care will be discussed.

Salix Interest-Free Energy Efficiency Loans for Higher Education Institutions – Accepting Applications Until 27th October

Last year, almost half of all HEIs in England worked with Salix on energy efficiency projects in the last financial year, resulting in the completion of projects utilising over £20m from Salix managed programmes. As well as impressive carbon emissions savings, these projects will see annual energy bill savings of £4m annually and £63m over the lifetime of the projects.
