OBE awarded to Salix Chief Executive in the Queen's New Year’s Honours List

It is confirmed that Annie Shepperd will receive an OBE for her significant contribution to energy efficiency and child protection over her career. The Queen's New Year Honours Lists 2017 recognises the contribution of a wide range of people across the UK and was announced on the 30th December. Annie is the Chief Executive of Salix Finance and also sits on the board of the Lucy Faithful Foundation, dedicated to the eradication of child sexual abuse.

£5.3 million of Salix funding awarded to Scottish public sector energy efficiency last year

 The Scottish Government continues to lead the way with low carbon development; last year investing over £5.3 million of interest-free funding through Salix Finance to support energy efficient technologies with Scottish local authorities and public sector bodies. This funding is expected to save over £18 million in public sector energy bills over the lifetime of these projects.

Salix Finance - Awards Won throughout 2016

With 2016 drawing to a close, Salix is pleased to reflect on the successes throughout 2016.

In April of this year, Salix won the Financier of the year and Company of the year in the New Energy and Cleantech Awards.

The awards celebrated the outstanding achievements of companies committed to the use of clean energy. The awards, now in their ninth year, celebrated the companies contributing to a greener planet.

Gloucestershire County Council LED Street lighting Upgrade – Part 3 of 3

Gloucestershire County Council has worked together with Salix since 2009, undertaking numerous energy efficiency projects across their wider estate. They became the first council to undertake a LED street lighting project funded by Salix Finance.

Revolving Green Fund 2016/17 - Now Accepting Applications for Funding

Salix are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for RGF 16/17. The funding is available for over 120 energy-efficiency technologies and is repaid through the savings made on energy bills.

Application deadline approaching for the Wales Funding Programme

Earlier this year, Salix announced the Wales Funding Programme, which combines both the Salix Energy Efficiency Loans Scheme (SEELS) and the Invest to Save – Green Growth Finance Schemes into one application process.

Public sector organisations were invited to apply for Green Growth Wales interest-free repayable funding for projects delivering energy efficiency, renewable energy and resource efficiency in the 2016-17 financial year.

Call for Expressions of Interest - RGF 2016/17

Following the announcement of the Revolving Green Fund 2016/17 last week, Salix is encouraging HEI’s to submit an ‘Expression of Interest’ form on our website as soon as possible.

Submitting an ‘Expression of Interest’ will help Salix understand more about your projects – the technologies you wish to install, how much funding is required and the expected project payback

Green Gown 2016 Winners Announced

Last week Salix were fortunate enough to attend the Green Gown awards 2016 hosted by the EAUC in Leicester. The event celebrated the incredible sustainability initiatives of 115 finalists and was hosted by Mike Barry, Director of Sustainable Business at Marks and Spencer.

This year, Salix sponsored the Research and Development category and would like to congratulate the winners of this; Danielle Butler from the University of Salford for the student award and the University of East Anglia for the institution award.
