Salix Accepting Applications for University Energy-Efficiency Project Financing

Salix has interest-free financing for available for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in England. If you are in the position to apply before March, please contact Salix to discuss funding opportunities.

Salix also welcomes early submissions and are happy to have discussions about pipeline projects or those which are in the early stages.

The funding is available for over 100 energy-efficiency technologies and Salix can provide support for programmes of work spanning multiple years.

Heat, Light and Air: How Glasgow Life Saved £107,720 a Year

Glasgow Life, a charity providing sporting and cultural activities on behalf of Glasgow City Council, has taken steps with Salix to drive a reduction in carbon emissions across their facilities in their efforts to meet Scotland’s carbon reduction targets. 

In 2016, Glasgow Life became the first leisure organisation in Scotland to set up a Salix Recycling Fund. With interest-free match funding from Salix Finance, they have created a £420,000 ring-fenced fund dedicated to energy saving projects.

BUFDG is the professional support Organisation for Finance Directors in UK higher education institutions with over 170 institutional members.

Salix Exhibiting at Oxfordshire Head teachers' Conference

The Oxfordshire Head teachers' conference is taking place from the 21st – 23rd February at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford–upon-Avon and is supported by Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance.

The conference will deliver expertise on current topics in primary schools across the curriculum through seminars, workshops and demonstrations. Around 230 delegates are due to attend, representing over 150 of Oxfordshire’s Primary and Secondary Schools.

Wales Funding Programme Deadline Approaching – 16th March 2018

Public sector organisations are invited to apply for Green Growth Wales repayable funding for projects delivering energy efficiency, renewable energy and resource efficiency in the 2017/18 financial year.

Finance is available for projects with a sufficiently prepared business case - if your project is not yet at submission stage, but is expected to reach that point by the end of the current financial year Salix would still like to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is the 16th March 2018*

New Inn Primary School in Torfaen County Borough Council used Salix interest-free funding of £29,060 to replace their lighting

New Inn was the first Primary School in Torfaen to receive Salix interest-free funding. There was a need to replace their dated, existing lighting throughout the school with more efficient T5 lighting. The difference in the lighting levels has made a considerable difference to the learning environment for both staff and pupils.
