Gloucestershire County Council LED Street Lighting Upgrade – Part 1 of 3

Gloucestershire County Council has worked together with Salix since 2009, undertaking numerous energy efficiency projects across their estate. They became the first council to undertake an LED street lighting project funded by Salix Finance.

In the first of our street lighting series about Gloucestershire County Council we look at the driving forces behind the business case.

Application deadline approaching for the Wales Funding Programme

Earlier this year, Salix announced the Wales Funding Programme, which combines both the Salix Energy Efficiency Loans Scheme (SEELS) and the Invest to Save – Green Growth Finance Schemes into one application process.

Public sector organisations were invited to apply for Green Growth Wales interest-free repayable funding for projects delivering energy efficiency, renewable energy and resource efficiency in the 2016-17 financial year.

Call for Expressions of Interest - RGF 2016/17

Following the announcement of the Revolving Green Fund 2016/17 last week, Salix is encouraging HEI’s to submit an ‘Expression of Interest’ form on our website as soon as possible.

Submitting an ‘Expression of Interest’ will help Salix understand more about your projects – the technologies you wish to install, how much funding is required and the expected project payback

Green Gown 2016 Winners Announced

Last week Salix were fortunate enough to attend the Green Gown awards 2016 hosted by the EAUC in Leicester. The event celebrated the incredible sustainability initiatives of 115 finalists and was hosted by Mike Barry, Director of Sustainable Business at Marks and Spencer.

This year, Salix sponsored the Research and Development category and would like to congratulate the winners of this; Danielle Butler from the University of Salford for the student award and the University of East Anglia for the institution award.

Salix Condition Improvement Fund and Salix Energy Efficiency Fund Webinar

Salix presents webinar about the funding available to Academies, Sixth Form Colleges and Multi Academy Trusts.

On Tuesday 15th November a number of listeners tuned in for an hour long webinar, during which Salix detailed the difference between the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) and the new Salix Energy Efficiency Fund (SEEF).

This is the first time Salix has launched the  SEEF fund and there was strong initial interest in both funds.

South Yorkshire Transport Passenger Executive has upgraded over 2,000 bus stops and shelters to LED lighting using Salix funding

The South Yorkshire Transport Passenger Executive (hereafter Transport Executive) used a £500,000 interest-free loan to carry out a lighting upgrade project at over 2,000 bus stops and shelters across South Yorkshire. The funding covered the full costs which included the lamps and installation and was completed in 2012.

Revolving Green Fund 2016/17 – Energy-Efficiency Funding for Higher Education Institutes

Building on the successes of the previous years, Salix is proud to announce the launch of the latest Revolving Green Fund. From its first round in 2008, the funding has acted as a catalyst for investment in energy-efficiency technologies which will reduce carbon emissions and create vital financial savings.

The funding is available for over 120 energy-efficiency technologies and is repaid from the savings made on energy bills.

Salix will be exhibiting at EMEX; The Energy Management Exhibition

EMEX; The Energy Management Exhibition will be held at the Excel in London on 16th and 17th November 2016.

The event builds partnerships between business, trade suppliers, government and public bodies and third party intermediaries to accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency measures in order to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Stakeholders attend EMEX to share knowledge, technologies and expertise.

Salix will be exhibiting at the SSN Public Sector Conference on 1st November 2016

Salix will be exhibiting at this year’s Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Conference, focused on public sector climate action. The conference will be held at Strathclyde University’s Technology and Innovation Centre in central Glasgow on 1st November 2016.

The conference will be exploring critical climate action pathways leading to 2030 and the key areas of focus will be investment, policy and practice with an aim to accelerate Scotland’s low carbon development and climate resiliency.

Salix are pleased to take part in a Webinar alongside Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, hosted by IEMA

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, together with Salix, will be hosting the webinar “Making the Business case in the Public Sector” on Tuesday 1st November at 12.30pm.

The webinar is aimed at members and non-members who are looking at energy efficiency initiatives to improve on their existing or new carbon management plans.

The webinar will look to answer many frequently asked questions, such as;
