Revolving Green Fund 2016/17 – Energy-Efficiency Funding for Higher Education Institutes

Building on the successes of the previous years, Salix is proud to announce the launch of the latest Revolving Green Fund. From its first round in 2008, the funding has acted as a catalyst for investment in energy-efficiency technologies which will reduce carbon emissions and create vital financial savings.

The funding is available for over 120 energy-efficiency technologies and is repaid from the savings made on energy bills.

Salix will be exhibiting at EMEX; The Energy Management Exhibition

EMEX; The Energy Management Exhibition will be held at the Excel in London on 16th and 17th November 2016.

The event builds partnerships between business, trade suppliers, government and public bodies and third party intermediaries to accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency measures in order to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. Stakeholders attend EMEX to share knowledge, technologies and expertise.

Salix will be exhibiting at the SSN Public Sector Conference on 1st November 2016

Salix will be exhibiting at this year’s Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Conference, focused on public sector climate action. The conference will be held at Strathclyde University’s Technology and Innovation Centre in central Glasgow on 1st November 2016.

The conference will be exploring critical climate action pathways leading to 2030 and the key areas of focus will be investment, policy and practice with an aim to accelerate Scotland’s low carbon development and climate resiliency.

Salix are pleased to take part in a Webinar alongside Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, hosted by IEMA

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, together with Salix, will be hosting the webinar “Making the Business case in the Public Sector” on Tuesday 1st November at 12.30pm.

The webinar is aimed at members and non-members who are looking at energy efficiency initiatives to improve on their existing or new carbon management plans.

Salix exhibited and attended Education Estates – 18th & 19th October 2016

Salix attended and exhibited at this year’s Education Estates in Manchester Central on 18th and 19th October.

The event covered primary, secondary, further and higher education sectors, bringing together companies from across the UK who can provide information, solutions and ideas for clients at all different stages in their project lifecycle; from initial funding decisions to refurbishment. 

Salix exhibited & presented at NHS Sustainability Day Roadshow – Birmingham 2016

Salix were pleased to exhibit and present for the third year running at the latest NHS Sustainability Day Roadshow at the Gatehouse in Birmingham on Tuesday 18th October 2016.

The day consisted of a number of presentations, concentrating on the different ways a sustainable NHS can be achieved and congratulating North Bristol NHS Trust who became winners of the 2016 Sustainability Day Awards.

Salix to attend and exhibit at Solace Summit; Connected Leadership in a changing world, 12th – 14th October

This year’s Solace Summit event will be held in Gateshead and brings together speakers from the public, private, voluntary and academic sectors to have conversations around a ‘vision for place’ and explore how this can be achieved.

The Royal Veterinary College used Salix interest-free funding to complete a host of energy efficiency projects at their Biological Sciences Unit in Camden.

The project, which completed in July 2016, was part funded by Salix and the Royal Veterinary College, with a total cost of £528,259. Salix funded £478,259 of this as an interest-free loan.

A holistic approach to the works was taken, incorporating an upgrade to the boiler system, primary pumps and Air Handling Units, as well as the de-commissioning of the inefficient steam plant and animal cage wash system.
