Energy Efficiency Funding Available Now for Further Education Colleges

Since 2014 Salix have funded over 100 energy efficiency projects in FE Colleges resulting in estimated annual savings of over £1.5 million and 7,500 tonnes of carbon*. There over 120 energy-efficiency technologies which are eligible and the loan is repaid from the savings generated by the project.

Salix College Energy Fund Webinar  

Salix took part in a webinar, hosted by the EAUC, to introduce the new funding. Programme Eligibility

Any Further Education College who receives a majority of their income directly from the public sector can apply for funding (6th Form Colleges included). 

Project Compliance Criteria 

  • Salix can fund up to a 5 year payback period
  • Less than £120 per tonne of CO2 over the lifetime of the project
  • Projects must be based on additionality i.e. projects would not have gone ahead without Salix funding
  • Projects typically have 9 months to complete
  • Salix are able to part fund projects

Where projects exceed the maximum payback criteria, applicants are welcomed to contribute to the overall cost in order to make the project compliant. The loan will be paid back to Salix directly by direct debit on a 6 monthly basis over a period of 5 years.
