Special Schools Funding, England
Since 2004 Salix have funded over 50 special schools with energy efficiency projects totalling over £1 million. Salix understand the highly energy intensive school environments of special schools and the opportunities for excellent energy saving projects, which can both improve the school learning environment and save on energy bills. With this in mind, Salix have decided to allocate funding specifically for special schools to access.
We have a lot of information to share with the public sector in our Knowledge Share area which you can access by registering on the website. There are lots of Project Knowledge Slides in this database that have been submitted by the clients themselves to give you feedback and ideas for projects.
Dryden School is a special school in Gateshead that have recently done multiple projects using Salix funding they have created a case study to showcase what they have done with Salix funding to improve their energy efficiency which can be found here.
This programme will have the same compliance criteria as the schools programme of up to an 8 year payback and a cost of less than £200/tCO2 over the lifetime of the energy efficiency projects.
The loan will be repaid back to Salix directly using your energy savings by direct debit on a 6 monthly basis based on your applications payback of between 4-8 years.
