Oxford City Council opened their Recycling Fund in 2008. This same year the Council also began implementing its first ambitious Carbon Management Plan to tackle environmentally damaging carbon emissions across the city.  The Council is now working on its third Carbon Management Plan (2017-2022) and on track to delivering a 5% per year CO2 reduction across its estate and operations through a range of carbon reduction measures.

Salix Well-Being Walk to Celebrate Best Companies Day

The Salix team recently took part in a well-being walk around the city of London, in support of Best Companies Day 2019, after being recently awarded number 21 on the ‘Sunday Times’ 2019 Best 100 Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For’ list.

The walk gave staff the opportunity to step outside the office environment t for an hour, take part in some gentle exercise and get some fresh air.

Salix is delighted to announce being awarded number 21 on the ‘Sunday Times’ 2019 Best 100 Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For’ list. The full list was announced last night at the Sunday Times Awards ceremony at Battersea Evolution, where Salix joined the other organisations to also be awarded a place on the list.

Funding available to Scottish organisations for energy efficiency projects

In 2018, Salix, with support from the Scottish Government, launched £8.5m in funding for public sector organisations to invest in energy efficiency projects. The fund forms part of a wider Scottish Government strategy to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions within the sector, following an announcement that Scotland are making energy efficiency a national infrastructure priority.

The fund aims to provide public sector organisations with the capital to install new technologies and upgrade existing systems improving their overall energy efficiency.
