- • Double glazing
- Insulation
- Building management systems (BMS)
The grant will support the Council’s efforts to decarbonize energy sources in public buildings to achieve net zero carbon by 2030 for the whole district.
Eden District Council’s Carbon Management Plan
Eden District Council is working to achieve Net Zero for the whole district by 2030, two decades ahead of the UK’s pledge of reaching Net Zero by 2050.
The council has already started putting its plan in motion and will be purchasing 2 electric vans, installing ‘Plug and Go’ electric vehicle charging points in Penrith and across the district, engaging with the local community via parishes to share information on green energy, sustainable habits which can be adopted by residents, enhancing the local bio-diversity to protect wildlife and looking at ways to use natural features such as trees, hedgerows, flood plains and meanders to reduce the risk of flooding.
