Salix, through its sponsorship, reaffirms its commitment to sustainability by assisting universities and colleges in reaching their net-zero goals. By providing funding and expertise, we support initiatives to decarbonise campuses and enhance energy efficiency.

We have successfully granted funds totalling more than £224,748,069 to over 223 universities and colleges under the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). This initiative enables public sector bodies to finance measures aimed at heat decarbonisation and enhancing energy efficiency. Furthermore, our dedication extends to the Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF), which supports the commencement of the decarbonisation journey. This includes conducting a carbon scoping exercise for estates and crafting a comprehensive plan for heat decarbonisation.

Hayley Bristow, universities, and colleges programme manager at Salix Finance, expressed pride in sponsoring the Green Gown Awards Sustainability Champion category for another year. Commending the high-quality entries and acknowledging the commendable work carried out by teams and individuals driving sustainability in the higher and further education sector. She congratulated all the winners for their outstanding contributions.
