We’re thrilled to announce that we have been named among those shortlisted for the Local and Public Sector Net Zero Transformation category at the 2024 Green Energy Awards, hosted by Regen.

Our nomination stems from a collaborative approach with the Priory Federation of Academies Trust, underscoring our commitment to driving impactful change within the local public sector.

This prestigious award recognises the crucial role local public sector leadership can play in transforming the UK’s energy system for a zero-carbon future through inspiring projects, ambitious leadership, and supportive policy frameworks.

The Green Energy Awards are a leading national celebration of pioneering innovation and sustainable development for the UKs energy system. More than 100 entries were submitted this year by companies, communities, and individuals across the UK for consideration in six categories.

Salix client support officer Ned Jordan said: “I am thrilled to learn that the Priory Federation of Academies Trust has been nominated for this award.

"Collaborating with them on their decarbonisation efforts has been a rewarding experience.

"The various initiatives undertaken by the federation, alongside their ambitious objectives, have notably decreased emissions and brought positive change to the local community.”

The Priory Federation of Academies Trust internal energy consultant Jim Kirby said: “It is important to recognise that the route for any public body to become carbon neutral is a marathon, not a sprint.

"The process is dictated by finance and, while employee attitude to change is willing, without realistic financial help it is simply not possible to successfully make the necessary steps.

"Long-term relationships are critical to the success of achieving carbon neutrality and that is why the government, through Salix management, plays a key role in achieving this goal.”

We eagerly anticipate the final stage of judging by an expert panel of independent judges, leading up to the winners' announcement in the ceremony on March 21, 2024, hosted at the Bristol Harbour Hotel.
