We’re excited to be taking part in Wales Climate Week 2025, organised by the Welsh Government and Climate Action Wales, which brings together organisations, policymakers, and communities to explore how Wales can continue its journey towards achieving net zero by 2050.

Throughout the week, experts from across Wales and beyond will discuss how every sector can contribute to a low carbon future. This year’s programme focuses on key themes including housing and the built environment, transport, and land use and agriculture, each vital to Wales’ transition to a more sustainable economy.

Speakers will include Huw Irranca-Davies, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs; Steve Brooks, commissioner at the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales; and Dr Peter Jones MBE, senior specialist advisor on peatlands at Natural Resources Wales, along with many others driving climate action across Wales.

Gbenga Adenaike, programme manager for our Wales team, will speak on a panel session titled “Innovation & Capacity Building,” on Wednesday 5 November from 2–3pm, exploring how innovation, skills, and data can help organisations across Wales reduce emissions while supporting economic growth. You can join the session virtually by registering here.

I’m excited to be speaking on a panel at Wales Climate Week, exploring how we can strengthen public sector responses to the climate crisis through innovation, collaboration, and investment in skills and technologies.

Gbenga Adenaike programme manager Salix

At Salix, we deliver funding schemes on behalf of the Welsh Government, enabling public sector organisations to invest in energy efficient and low carbon technologies.

From retrofitting schools and colleges to modernising public buildings and reducing energy waste, our programmes help organisations take practical, visible action to cut carbon emissions, save money, and make a difference in communities.

To celebrate Wales Climate Week, we’ll also be sharing a series of podcasts throughout the week, featuring voices from across Wales who are leading the way on sustainability, from research and education to healthcare and the arts. Each episode highlights how collaboration, innovation, and creativity are helping turn Wales’ net zero ambition into reality.

Wales aims to reach net zero by 2050, with collaboration, innovation, and investment at the heart of this goal. This year’s Climate Week will explore the opportunities and challenges in achieving it, examining how technology, skills development, and robust data systems can support decision making across sectors.

We’re proud to be part of this important conversation and to share the experience we’ve gained in helping organisations across Wales build a more sustainable and resilient future.
