Submitting new technologies for addition to the eligible technology list

Salix recognises that new, energy-efficient and renewable technologies emerge over time and are open to reviewing technologies that public sector organisations wish to implement. New technologies will only be reviewed when they have been submitted for consideration by a public sector organisation. This is to ensure that technologies are only added when there is a level of demand from public sector organisations who would like to access Salix funding for this technology. 

In order for Salix and its external technical consultants to complete a full review of the technology, the following information will need to be provided: 

  • Details of the specific project including a project description, details of projected energy savings and firm quotes. 
  • A detailed technical explanation of how the technology works including technical specifications for the technology and equipment (including any relevant testing standards.) 
  • Independent evidence of how savings are achieved (projected savings should be based on site-specific calculations.

Please note that whilst case studies can be useful, they alone are not sufficient to support savings projections.
