Join public sector colleagues from across Wales this June to explore practical solutions, share success stories and build momentum climate targets

Public sector organisations across Wales are once again invited to come together this June for the return of the journey to a net zero Wales events – a key opportunity to learn, connect and take practical action on decarbonisation.

Co-hosted by  the Welsh Government and our teams at Salix, the events will bring together public sector leaders and sustainability practitioners to explore how Wales is progressing towards its net zero ambitions and to share real-world solutions that are already making an impact.

As Wales continues its journey towards achieving net zero by 2050, the events will highlight the critical leadership role the public sector is playing.

Taking place from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 10 June at Venue Cymru in North Wales and Wednesday 17 June at Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Llandaff Campus in South Wales, both events are free to attend.

Designed specifically for the public sector, the Journey to a net zero Wales events will welcome representatives from local authorities, schools, colleges, universities and other public service organisations.

The public sector has a crucial role in tackling climate change, and we are committed to ensuring public sector organisations have the support and expertise they need to play this key leading role. These events are a fantastic opportunity to meet everyone involved in decarbonising the public sector, share ideas and knowledge, and showcase successes.

Attendees will have the chance to hear directly from peers, discuss common challenges and learn from successful decarbonisation projects being delivered across Wales.

A range of inspiring case studies will be showcased, demonstrating how organisations are reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency and investing in sustainable infrastructure.

Networking and collaboration remain a central focus of the events, providing valuable opportunities for organisations and individuals to connect, share knowledge and build partnerships that can help scale up successful approaches to decarbonisation across the country.

Momentum towards decarbonisation continues to build across the public sector in Wales, and these events provide an important platform to showcase real-life successes and encourage shared learning.

Previous events have seen consistently strong attendance, reflecting the sector’s commitment to meeting the challenge of net zero.

Speakers and full agendas will be announced in the coming weeks and will feature experts and practitioners from across the Welsh public sector who are leading the way on decarbonisation.

Attendees can expect to leave with practical insights and ideas they can apply within their own organisations, whether they are at the start of their net zero journey or looking to build on existing projects.

The events are open exclusively to public sector organisations. Register via our events page or direct for either event below.
