Salix opens Application Portal for Phase 3c Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme

Applications are now being accepted for Phase 3c of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.

The Application Portal opened at 2pm today, Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Phase 3 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme was launched by Salix on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in 2021. It provides grants to public sector bodies to fund heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency measures.

Overall, the scheme helps reduce fossil fuel emissions as well as making public buildings more comfortable and cheaper to warm.

For those wishing to apply, please ensure you have registered an account with Salix and have read the PSDS Phase 3c Guidance.

For the Application Portal you must be registered with an account and be able to log in before you can access this.

Phase 3c has up to £230 million available for the 2024/25 financial year as well as a broadly balanced amount for the 2025/26 financial year that will be confirmed this autumn.

Salix Director of Programmes, Ian Rodger said: “Salix is delighted to be delivering the next phase of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to support public sector bodies in their net zero transformation journey. The scheme is empowering organisations across England to make significant reductions in their carbon footprint from heating public buildings.

“The huge enthusiasm for the scheme shows how much public sector bodies care about their carbon emissions and Salix is proud to be able to support them with finance and technical support to achieve their ambitions.”

It means more schools, hospitals and other public sector buildings will be able to reduce energy use, save on bills, and cut carbon emissions through the latest round of funding from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. It supports the installation of low carbon heating, including heat pumps, install renewable energy like solar panels, and carry out energy efficiency measures including insulation and low energy lighting.

The latest round of funding coincides with the three-year anniversary of the scheme, which has so far allocated more than £2 billion so far to almost a thousand projects across England. It aims to support the government’s commitment to reduce emissions from public sector buildings by 75% by 2037, compared to 2017 levels, as first set out in the 2021 Heat and Buildings Strategy.
