Plans to recruit three new non-executive directors as extensions are confirmed

Contract extensions alongside recruitment to Salix board further support our work helping public sector organisations reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, create warmer homes and contribute to the UK’s net zero ambitions.

We are pleased to announce that three existing members of the Salix Finance board of directors have had their terms of appointment extended.

Baroness Natalie Evans, chair of the Salix board, alongside non-executive directors Claire Davies and Tracy Vegro, will continue in their roles, providing continuity of leadership and governance as we progress our strategic objectives.

Baroness Evans’ appointment as chair has been extended for a further 12 months from 28 February 2027. Claire Davies’ appointment has been extended for three months from 30 November 2026, while Tracy Vegro’s second term has been extended for a further six months from 1 January 2028.

Claire and Tracy both serve on the board’s audit and risk assurance committee, supporting effective governance, oversight and accountability across the organisation.

Chief executive Kevin Holland said: “We are delighted that Natalie, Claire and Tracy will continue to serve on the board. Their wealth of experience, expertise and commitment have been invaluable in helping to guide the organisation and strengthen our governance.

“Their continued leadership will provide important continuity as we deliver our strategic priorities and support the public sector in its journey towards net zero.

“We also look forward to welcoming new non-executive directors to the board, bringing fresh perspectives and expertise to help shape the next chapter of Salix.”

Board recruitment plans

Alongside the appointment extensions, we are progressing plans to recruit three new non-executive directors to strengthen the board’s expertise and broaden its perspectives.

The recruitment campaign is being led by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s public appointments team. The new appointments are intended to further support our governance and strategic leadership at Salix as we continue to help public sector organisations decarbonise.

Baroness Evans welcomed the extension of her appointment, saying she was grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as chair and remained committed to supporting the board’s strategic priorities.

She added: “I am delighted to be continuing as chair of the Salix board and grateful for the opportunity to do so.

“I remain committed to supporting the board’s strategic priorities, providing constructive challenge and insight, and working collaboratively with fellow board members and the executive team.

“I am delighted that Claire and Tracy have agreed to extend their terms on the Board and together we look forward to building on the progress made to date, contributing our experience and expertise, and continuing to add value to the organisation as we work towards our shared objectives.”

Further information about the non-executive director recruitment opportunity will be made available through the relevant public appointments process. See the gov.uk website.
