Salix showcases decarbonisation projects at APSE Energy Summit 2025

We’re engaging in meaningful dialogue and driving solutions to climate change

Salix is proud to showcase our role in delivering decarbonisation projects across Scotland at this week’s two-day APSE Energy Summit 2025, held in Glasgow.

The summit brings together key stakeholders to discuss climate change, energy, and sustainability, while providing a platform to explore government initiatives, case studies, best practice, and emerging market trends.

We’re delighted to work with colleagues from across the public sector and alongside the Scottish Government to invest and deliver energy efficiency and clean heating projects that are making a difference to our world.

Our assistant director, Heather Jones, addressed attendees on Tuesday, focusing on the funding we have available through the Salix Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (SEELS) and Recycling Funds, delivered by our teams on behalf of the Scottish Government.

Heather said: “We’re delighted to work with colleagues from across the public sector and alongside the Scottish Government to invest and deliver energy efficiency and clean heating projects that are making a difference to our world.

“For us, it is a chance to highlight our collective success on our work in Scotland over the past 20 years but also look at the long-term picture and prepare for future challenges in the energy transition.

“I believe that the public sector can be the leaders at the centre of this transition connecting the dots between national and local government, society, finance and technological innovations.”

Heather also outlined the additional support delivered by our expert client and technical teams, helping public sector organisations in their delivery of projects.

The summit ran on 21 and 22 October and featured a range of speakers, including:

  • Catriona Laing, deputy director for domestic climate change, Scottish Government
  • Claire Mennim from North Lanarkshire council
  • Neil Grant from South Ayrshire council

The event also included a range of workshops and panel discussions, featuring the practicalities of heat networks, capturing the wind, tackling heritage buildings, the challenges of fleet decarbonisation and benefitting from building management systems.

Heather attended the summit with colleagues Maebh Poultney, Brandon Dillon and Daniel Lenton.

At Salix we are committed to collaborating with partners nationwide to support decarbonisation goals and advance a sustainable future for Scotland.
