Phase 5 Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund

Welcome to Phase 5 of the Low Carbon Skills Fund. The Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund provides grants to boost decarbonisation skills and unlock decarbonisation in the public sector.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, which runs the scheme, awarded £15 million worth of grants to 118 organisations to support their green plans. This funding was made available for public sector organisations to engage the specialist and expert advice and skills required to put in place or improve an existing heat decarbonisation plan.

• Supported the development of investable projects, putting successful applicants in a stronger position to secure future capital funding and financing opportunities.
• Offered greater flexibility than previous phases, with a wider range of eligible activities that allowed organisations to target support to their specific needs and stage of project development.
• Accelerated decarbonisation planning across the public sector, helping organisations move from strategic ambition to clear, actionable plans for reducing carbon emissions.
