Paving the way for sustainable education environments

Salix Finance was on the ground at the Education Estates Conference in Manchester to speak with key contacts and discuss the vision of a low-to-zero carbon future for UK educational facilities.

The 11th annual conference at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, was organised in collaboration with the Department for Education. Attendees included key stakeholders and professionals in the education sector with a focus on creating sustainable learning environments.

As a leading advocate for sustainability and environmental responsibility, Salix staff were there to talk to people about opportunities and challenges that exist in the decarbonisation of the education sector.

The Education Estates Conference event covered a wide range of topics over October 17 and 18, including funding, design, construction, maintenance, and management of educational facilities.

Attendees were invited to explore innovative solutions and strategies for the development of low-to-zero carbon educational facilities. The event also highlighted some of the latest advancements in sustainable design and technology.

On conference highlights, Salix Client Support Officer Alexander Pierre-Fallman said: "It was great to engage with applicants and clients, who gave us their perspective on decarbonising and their energy needs. It was also insightful to see what the industry has on offer, and it gave us an idea of where future projects are headed."
