Salix supports the SDU Sustainable Health and Care Week 25th – 28th June

The Sustainable Health and Care Week taking place from the 25th – 29th June is a partnership between the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) and NHS Employers. Salix supports the Sustainable Health and Care Week and look forward to the opportunity for all organisations across the NHS to highlight and promote sustainable projects they have been undertaking to deliver environmental, social and health benefits across the system.

Hannah Taylor, Salix’s NHS Programme Manager said “As part of the Sustainable Health and Care Week we would like to celebrate the outstanding efforts the NHS have put into progressing sustainable projects including energy efficiency to drive down wasted energy and save money across their estates. We are proud to have supported over 580 energy efficiency projects in Trusts and Foundation Trusts and look forward to continuing this support in the future.”

Jerome Baddley, SDU’s Head of Unit said: “High quality, well led health and care organisations recognise the crucial role they play in their communities, as major employers, buyers and polluters. Thinking beyond their walls, protecting local environment, society and economy, as critical life support systems. Our staff, patients and public trust and expect us to take visible lead in health and care, not just healthcare.”

Each day the Sustainable Health and Care Week will focus on a different theme and will be linking in with people and organisations to promote their activities and their great achievements. They will also be sharing videos, podcasts, case studies, blogs and facts related to each theme.
