Salix taking part in the Lord Mayor's Appeal, City Giving Day 2019!

Salix are proud to be taking part in the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, City Giving Day on the 24th September 2019.

In addition to taking part in the City Giving Day Quiz night and Long Lunch, Salix are involved in the Tour de City static bike challenge for the second year running.

The event will be held on the Old Roadway (Paternoster Row) on the north side of St Paul's Cathedral in aid of The Lord Mayor's Appeal.

The challenge is a thrilling 40-minute race which is divided into five 8-minute slots for team members to pedal as fast as they possibly can with the support of their team members.

As part of this challenge, we will be competing in several categories including further distance cycled by a team, furthest distance cycled by an individual and top fundraising team.

The money raised will go to the three partner organisations for the Lord Mayor's Appeal. These organisations are leading experts in addressing social issues to deliver ground-breaking programmes: Place2Be, OnSide Youth Zones and Samaritans.

City Giving Day aims to raise funds to support charities and projects as well as showcasing successful initiatives implemented in companies across the City of London in line with four strategic pillars, a health city, a skilled city, an inclusive city and a fair city. The appeal looks to enable collaboration and lead city-wide campaigns to tackle specific issues, providing solutions that can be replicated.

Annie Shepperd OBE, Chief Executive at Salix said, ‘Every day, Salix works to make a difference. We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of all public bodies. Across City Giving Day, we switch our efforts to support the Lord Mayor’s charities.’
