About this scheme

The Phase 1 Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund was launched on behalf of Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (formerly the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) in September 2020 to help all eligible public sector bodies to engage specialist and expert advice to identify and develop energy efficiency and low carbon heat upgrade projects for non-domestic buildings and then prepare robust and effective applications for the £1bn Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. The scheme ran until 31 March 2021.

Message from Salix

All of us at Salix are delighted that the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund has attracted such a wide range of applications from public sector organisations. It has enabled many to access funds to develop and implement projects, and to develop heat decarbonisation plans. All of this activity supports the UK’s contribution to tackling climate change, supports the economy and work towards the UK's net zero target.

The funding provided by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (formerly the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) has provided a great boost to the public sector at a time when so many are thinking about our environment, the economy and the future of our planet.
