Thank you to everyone who has applied for the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund - you have done this at a time when you are also managing the impact of COVID-19 on your public services and the lives of your staff and the communities you serve. Thank you for all you do.
All of us at Salix are delighted that the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund has attracted such a wide range of applications from public sector organisations. It has enabled many to access funds to develop and implement projects, and to develop heat decarbonisation plans. All of this activity supports the UK’s contribution to tackling climate change, supports the economy and work towards the UK's net-zero target.
The funding provided by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has provided a great boost to the public sector at a time when so many are thinking about our environment, the economy and the future of our planet.
Salix is working hard to assess all applications and we look forward to working with you to deliver your carbon-saving projects.
The Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund has now closed for new applications as of 11 January 2021.
If you would like to discuss your application with Salix, please get in touch at [email protected] and a member of the Salix team will be in touch with you shortly.
The Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund
The Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) has been launched alongside the £1 billion Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (referred to as the Grant Scheme) to provide complementary funding across three activities relevant to the Grant Scheme.
Firstly, all eligible public sector bodies can use LCSF funding to engage specialist and expert advice to identify and develop energy efficiency and low carbon heat upgrade projects for non-domestic buildings, link to LCSF application here, and then prepare robust and effective applications for the £1 billion Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (referred to as the Grant Scheme), link to Grant Scheme application here.
Additionally, all eligible public bodies can apply for LCSF funding to engage the specialist and expert advice and skills required to enable the delivery of projects funded by the main grant scheme. Eligible public bodies can also apply for LCSF funding to put in place a Heat Decarbonisation Plan or to improve an existing plan.
