As part of the Scottish Green Public Sector Estate Decarbonisation Scheme, we will continue to offer funding to eligible public bodies in Scotland via the existing Scottish Public Sector Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme.
This scheme offers zero-interest loans to the public sector to facilitate energy efficiency improvement projects that result in financial and carbon savings and contribute towards achieving their net-zero aspirations.
Funded by the Scottish Government, we're proud to have been working with the public sector in Scotland since 2008. Together with our clients we have invested more than £75 million in energy efficiency projects in Scotland to date. This is forecasted to save the public sector more than £202 million over the lifetime of the projects.
Project criteria in Scotland offer up to a 12-year payback at a cost of £305 per tonne of carbon dioxide (£305/tCO2) over the lifetime of the project on all new loan agreements.
The Scottish SEELS loan programme offers zero interest loans to the public sector to enable them to undertake energy efficiency improvement projects that help them incur financial and carbon savings that work towards achieving net zero carbon in their estates. The available funding allows us to offer up to 75% of the total compliant project value along with increased payback criteria (subject to technical review and due diligence).
