New speaker joins line-up for our Salix Edinburgh energy event, Delivering Scotland’s Energy Future
BE-ST’s Caitriona Jordan joins Midlothian Council and Abertay University leaders for a day focused on Scotland’s energy future and the challenges facing the public sector
A leading BE-ST energy and retrofit expert has been announced as the latest speaker for our flagship public sector energy event taking place in Edinburgh this autumn.
Caitriona Jordan, who leads BE-ST’s Retrofit and Energy Efficiency Programmes, will join Andrew Souter, programme manager at Midlothian Council, and Cullen Warnock, chief estates officer at Abertay University, at the event on Tuesday 27 October.
Caitriona has played a key role in supporting Scotland’s transition to a net zero built environment. Since joining BE-ST in 2021, she has led programmes focused on retrofit, energy efficiency and skills development, including Low Carbon Learning, Scotland’s first national training programme in Passivhaus, retrofit and fabric-first approaches.
In 2025, Caitriona also guided her team through the retrofit of Scotland’s National Retrofit Centre, which now provides a flagship hub for advancing retrofit practices in Scotland and internationally through Retrofit Scotland.
She will bring this experience to a programme designed to explore the practical challenges and opportunities facing organisations across Scotland’s public sector.
Andrew Souter and Cullen Warnock will provide further insight from their own organisations and projects, giving attendees the opportunity to hear directly from leaders working on energy and estates challenges in practice.
The event will take place at South Hall, University of Edinburgh, with the formal programme running from 10am to 4pm, followed by informal networking until 5pm.
The programme will combine expert presentations with interactive sessions, discussion and opportunities for attendees to share experiences and ideas.
Places are free but limited, with registrations already filling quickly. Attendees are also being invited to suggest topics or issues they would like to see explored during the day.
