Salix wishes shortlisted projects the best of luck at this year’s IHEEM Healthcare Estates Awards
Congratulations to those public sector organisations and project teams shortlisted and recognised
The IHEEM Healthcare Estates Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the teams working across the healthcare estate to deliver innovative and practical approaches to decarbonisation, helping to create a cleaner, greener and more sustainable public sector.
Among those shortlisted is Project Clean Heat at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath, which has been recognised in the Net Zero Innovation category.
Our teams have been working with the hospital team on its Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme project.
The project is a major decarbonisation programme supporting the RUH to transform the way its buildings are heated and cooled. The funding, delivered by our team at Salix, includes air and water source heat pumps, solar panels, improved insulation, LED lighting and enhanced heating controls.
The project demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when public sector organisations, funding partners and delivery teams work together towards shared net zero ambitions.
With the new solar panels now switched on and the project on track for completion later this year, Project Clean Heat is expected to reduce the RUH’s annual carbon emissions by more than 3,531 tonnes once complete.
The recognition of projects such as Project Clean Heat also highlights the important role of public sector decarbonisation in delivering long-term environmental benefits, while supporting more efficient, resilient and sustainable buildings for the communities they serve.
